THE BORDER MINORITY GROUP

The Border Minority Group is responsible for delivery of an action plan called ‘Building bridges, Making progress, Growing trust’ which is funded by the Monaghan Peace Partnership under the PEACE III programme. The action plan is to be implemented over a 16 month period to December 2010. The work will involve working closely with Protestant minority groups and other minority communities in the geographical area of County Monaghan. The BMG wishes to fill two positions to work on delivery of the action plan.
1 x PROJECT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (position filled)
1 x PART TIME CLERICAL OFFICER (position filled)
Candidates should ideally have:
· An ability to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the rural Protestant community in County Monaghan.
· A minimum of 3 years working experience of the voluntary / community sector.
· Be able to demonstrate an understanding of peace building especially within the Protestant community and
within a cross border context.
· Previous experience of working with minority groups in the southern border counties.
· Be a car owner and possess a clean driving license.
