JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SECRETARY/CLERICAL OFFICER WITH BORDER MINORITY GROUP
Job Title: Secretary/Clerical Officer
Responsible to the Development Officer and the Border Minority Group.
Main Responsibilities:
To assume responsibility for the provision of clerical and secretarial support to the
Development Officer and committee of BMG.
The Job will require an individual capable of working both as part of a team and also
on their own initiative.
Additionally, the Secretary/Clerical Officer will have responsibility for:
- Receptionist duties.
- Filing and logging information.
- Minute taking.
- Typing duties including reports, advertisements, etc.
- Processing of payments and receipts.
- Liaising with project participants and volunteers.
- Provision of general secretarial support to member groups and the development officer.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
• Good clerical and secretarial skills.
• A good working knowledge of computer based accounts and packages.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential.
The Secretary/Clerical Officer will be based in the offices of the Border Minority Group.
The job is a full time position and may involve unsociable working hours from time to time.
A contract will be issued to the successful candidate to October 2013.
The post may involve a small amount of travel in the county; therefore applicants must be a
car owner and have a full driver’s license. A mileage allowance will be paid in respect of travel
undertaken during the course of work.
